Members of the Expedition 66 crew have been packing up and organizing Dragon supplies for at least the last two weeks, according to NASA's space station blog, including swapping out science freezer components that will host the precious refrigerated science samples.Įditor's note: This story was updated to reflect the 24-hour weather delay for SpaceX's Dragon CRS-24 spacecraft undocking at the International Space Station. Dragon is often used to carry back biological samples that must be transferred to a scientific facility quickly splashing down in the Atlantic Ocean will allow for rapid transfer of samples to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in coastal Florida, east of Orlando. 21 atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and delivered both science and a set of early Christmas presents to the orbiting complex one day later.ĭragon is the only cargo ship that can fly scientific experiments back to researchers on Earth, as all other such spacecraft burn up in the atmosphere during re-entry. The Dragon spacecraft blasted off on its cargo mission, called CRS-24, Dec. If the Dragon had undocked Saturday morning, it would have splashdown in the wee hours of Monday, according to NASA. So we Managed to get the airlock accessible again and repair the pressure regulator inside it.The capsule was originally targeting Friday to undock and Saturday to splash down, but the procedure was delayed by a day due to poor weather conditions for returning. Disengage the lock and manually open it - wham still got pressure loss of the base module attached but somewhat the pressure inside is regulating itself back to 1.o.īetter if u got a pal with u get him to re pressurise the airlock to 0.7 while u r inside the shaft. Open up the maintenance shaft outside in space (directly beneath and next to the airlock)Ĭlose it behind u (!) and crawl up all the way to the inner one. I noticed the 0.x bar problematic as well.ĭid u ever think Star Trek wise if the maintenance shafts or as they called it Jeffries tubes ^įirst get EVA born outside again - close the airlock from outside. So I guess there is still a lot of work to be done with this game programming wise )īut still I can help I with uncooperative air locks. Tl dr - Vented atmo from my ship, which locked me out of cargo hold and my power and air generators mysteriously disappeared from ship systems. Let me know if you guys experienced any of these bugs and how you dealt with them. So I cannot get to the cargo access or the drills to resupply myself with more oxygen from my mistake, or a viable power source for some reason! There is also no manual override for that door. I go down and try to re-pressurize but it stops at. I take the elevator down, after having several attempts at using it (I may have just pressed the button multiple times from being impatient.) I had to decompress the elevator before I could use it. At first i believe it, then I look at the Air Generator on the other side of the door. I go over to the Life Support Terminal and it says I have no Air Generator. Well that's just great! I doubt the decompression did that, but we'll never know for sure. Trying to correct the damage, I go over to my power terminal to boot up life support and such. (Normally I like to close the door behind me, I wasn't born in a space barn.) So the ship ends up at an average. I lost about a third or more of my total air supply. So great, I feel like an idiot and I make my way back to see how much damage I had caused. ![]() ![]() (I had left my character in the lifeboat.) And stupid me, instead of turning around in the ships airlock to lock the door behind me, I go straight down toward the inner door button to 'close the door behind me' which of course just opens the inner door and pushes me and my precious air out into the black of space. Then I get back online and work my way back into the ship. Before that I had turned off the Power Generator to save fuel, didn't know if it would use up any fuel while I was offline, figured I would be cautious of my resources. So yesterday I was able to link up an airlock and a ship to my lifeboat.
